Anisha Gupta Müller: POLITIKEN DER COMFORTABILITY

(DE) Die Kunstvermittlerin Anisha Gupta Müller spezialisiert sich auf Empowerment, Antidiskriminierungsarbeit und leitet die wöchentliche Tanzklasse FemmeFitness. In Ihrer Lecture Performance POLITIKEN DER COMFORTABILITY postuliert sie: „Heutzutage scheint es, als würden Künstler_innen und die Kunstwelt vor radikaler Softness überquellen. Wir wollen die kapitalistischen und patriarchalischen Abläufe, die die Kunstwelt bestimmen, ablehnen. Wir wollen die Art und Weise, wie wir miteinander umgehen, ändern und uns der Institutionalisierung widersetzen. Wir wollen unsere weichen künstlerischen Seiten als politisches Werkzeug zur Heilung nutzen. Aber was genau ist diese Weichheit? Können alle Künstler_innen und Kunstwerke Zugang zu ihr haben? Welcher Kunst wird eine Plattform geboten, um „radikal“ und politisch verletzlich zu sein? In dieser Lecture Performance werden wir über die Grenze zwischen Weichheit und Erträglichkeit nachdenken und über den institutionellen Wunsch hinausschauen, es uns bequem zu machen.“

(EN) Art educator Anisha Gupta Müller specialises in empowerment, anti-discrimination work and leads the weekly dance class FemmeFitness. In her lecture performance ,POLITIKEN DER COMFORTABILITY which is visually accompanied by Alessandra Plaza she postulates: „These days it seems that artists and the art world are brimming with radical softness. We want to reject the capitalist and patriarchal transactions that define the art world. We want to change the ways we interact with each other and resist institutionalisation. We want to embrace our soft artistic sides as a political tool for healing. But what exactly is this softness? Can all artists and artworks have access to it? What art is given a platform to be ‘radically’ and politically vulnerable? In this lecture performance, we will consider the line between softness and palatability and look beyond an institutional desire to make us comfortable.“

Nora Mayr & Stephanie Winter: INTRODUCTION TO RADICAL CARE

(DE) Mit der Lecture-Performance INTRODUCTION TO RADICAL CARE präsentieren Kuratorin Nora Mayr und Künstlerin Stephanie Winter ein künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt, das Mutterschaft als politische Strategie betrachtet und eine Welt imaginiert, in der Menschen verstärkt als Mütter im Sinne eines aktivistischen Verständnisses des Caring (dt. Sorgens) und nicht – wie seit Jahrhunderten von der westlichen Welt vorgelebt, als Eroberer und Ausbeuter agieren. Ausgehend von ökofeministischen Perspektiven teilen die Kulturproduzentinnen Resultate und Zwischenstand eines fast einjährigen Dialogs sowie der ersten Manifestation des RADICAL CARE Labors mit Einblicken in Rechercheergebnisse, Fragestellungen und künstlerische Positionen rund um die Themen Mutterschaft und Eco Care.

(EN) With the lecture performance INTRODUCTION TO RADICAL CARE, curator Nora Mayr and artist Stephanie Winter present an artistic research project that considers motherhood as a political strategy and imagines a world in which people increasingly act as mothers in the sense of an activist understanding of caring and not – as exemplified for centuries by the Western world – as conquerors and exploiters. Based on ecofeminist perspectives, the cultural producers share results and intermediate status of an almost year-long dialogue as well as the first manifestation of the RADICAL CARE Lab with insights into research results, questions and artistic positions around the topics of motherhood and eco care.
